This week, Tambins and I are camping in NE Iowa (one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited) outside of West Union Iowa at a campground called Volga Lake Campground.

The scenery here is amazing and it is super quiet for being a Holiday Weekend (Independence Day). We had dropped the camper off earlier this week and I had to work the first part of the week, so we came out later in the week and needed to run to a store to get food items, fishing items and other random items. So, we decided to drive an hour over to Prairie du Chein, WI with my parents (they are camping with us again this week!) about mid day.
After stopping at the store and picking up supplies, it was agreed upon that all of us were hungry. No one really offered up ideas for lunch, so I swing into a cool looking place called Eddie's Irish Pub.

Upon entering, we were directed by a sign to seat ourselves. There were not a lot of people in at the noon hour, so we picked a high top and had a seat. The waitress was super friendly and my father and I tried the Beer of the Month (Zombie Dust IPA) and Tambins and my mother ordered margaritas.

The drinks were brought out (very tasty and ice cold!) and food orders were placed. I decided to go with the Stacked Pastrami Stacker (yes, that was the actual name), Tambins ordered a Cajun grilled chicken sandwich, my mom ordered a brisket sandwich and my dad had ordered a Jenny's Hot Deli Delight with a bowl of Clam Chowder. The waitress was busy and there was only one bartender working at the time as well. I had almost ordered the same sandwich that my dad did, as it truly sounded delicious!
Business picked up quite a bit while we waited for our food to arrive and the waitress was definitely busy taking orders from the new pretty full pub. She was doing amazing and made sure to ask of we wanted refills for our drinks while running around! I knew that we would be leaving a good tip at this point!
Our food arrived and it looked amazing! My mom quickly conned my dad out of his amazing looking sandwich and gave him the brisket sandwich as opposed to the item he had ordered...I have no idea if she just decided that brisket wasn't sounding that good or if she just really wanted the deli delight? The bowl of Clam Chowder was huge, the servings of fries (2 orders split between each couple) and the side of horseradish/mayo for the sandwiches looked amazing at this point!
Tambins is usually the one that I worry about when we go out to eat, as she is EXTREMELY picky about food and definitely particular about grilled chicken. I patiently waited while she took her first bite. At this point, I wasn't sure if she was going to like it or not, but she looked up and said "wow" which was great! I knew that this meant I would definitely enjoy my meal!
We all loved the food! Each of us enjoyed the meal we ordered (well, my mom enjoyed my dad's sandwich 😂) and we said that we would definitely stop back here again on future trips to the area!
So, if you ever find yourself in Prairie du Chein, WI and are looking for some good food and a cool atmosphere, be sure to stop by Eddie's Irish Pub!
